As part of their 20th birthday celebrations, CDR are proud to present Create Define Release Vol. 1. The compilation features a range of artists, all of whom have been regulars at CDR events and part of the wider community over the last two decades. Contributions range from attendees at the original Plastic People sessions in London, like Om Unit, Mr. Beatnick & Hector Plimmer to newcomers like Divalicious K, MJSB and Shunaji, as well as music from CDR's international community, like Johannesburg's X14, Suup Zulu & Lesley Bee, Nairobi's Coco Em, and Tokyo's Daisuke Tanabe, as well as many more.

Musically, the album covers the wide spectrum of music championed by CDR; forward-thinking electronic music of Black origin, whether that be the boundary-shattering club explorations of X14's 'iNtsila', Vida Voyage's ethereal and bass heavy track 'Shallow' or Breakplus' uptempo and Afrobeat-tinged 'Magnetar Flare'. Create Define Release Vol. 1 is but a glimpse into the deep well of talent that can be heard at CDR events the world over.
